ASL in Trincomalee Joins ‘Vesak’ Commemoration

Troops of the Army School of Logistics (ASL) in Trincomalee on account of ‘Vesak’ organized a series of religious events under the guidance of the Commandant, Brigadier E.M.M Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO inside the school premises on Friday (05 May).

Venerable Aluthoya Sadhdhathissa Thero, Chief Incumbent at Sri Bodhirajarama Temple, China Bay, Trincomalee conducted the morning Bodhi Pooja programme and a special sermon for the troops afterwards. The occasion also invoked merits on fallen War Heroes and blessings on differently able soldiers, serving Army personnel and their family members.

The evening was lit up by creative Vesak lanterns and decorations. A chickpeas ‘Dansela’ (free eatery) organized by ASL Army personnel for the general public got underway as dusk fell.

The Commandant, Senior Officers, Officers, Student Officers and Other Ranks serving the ASL participated in these programmes.
