Artillery Regiment Extends Greetings to Retiring Senior Officer

The Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regimental HQ at Panagoda on Thursday (1) held a formal farewell ceremony on behalf of one of its senior officers, Major General Saman Liyanage who just retired after an illustrious service of more than 34 years in the Army.

The commencement of the day’s proceedings began with the wreath-laying at the War Heroes monument. After a while, a Guard Turnout at the entrance and a Guard of Honour, presented at the parade ground saluted the day’s Chief Guest, Major General Saman Liyanage.

During refreshments, the retiring Senior Officer shared views with all ranks present at the Warrant Officers’/Sergeants’ Mess and thanked all of them for the support given to him throughout his career. The farewell formalities culminated with the formal dinner at the Officers’ Mess the same evening (1).
