Army Woman Cricketers Enter Semi Finals

Army Women’s Cricket Team beat Colts Cricket Club by 133 runs in the Women’s Division I Cricket Tournament match, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket on Thursday(6).

With this victory, the Army Women’s Cricketers qualified to enter the semi finals in the tournament.

Batting first, the Army Woman Cricketers scored 225 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Sergeant S.D.N.S. Karunarathne top scored with 47 runs while Private C.M.P.P.R.N Perera was unbeaten on 44.

In reply, the Colts Cricket Club were bowled out for 92 runs in 45.2 overs. Private D.M.S.M Kumari, Private A.G.R. Meththananda, Private N.S. Ravi Kumari and Private N.N.D. Silva took 2 wickets each.

The semi final match of the Women’s Division I Cricket Tournament between Army Cricket Team and Air Force Cricket Team will be played next Monday (10) at Moors Grounds, Colombo.
