Army TT Committee Gets Chinese Coaches for Table Tennis Promoting

With a view to elevating the standards of the Table Tennis within the organization, Sri Lanka Army Table Tennis Committee has succeeded in getting the training assistance of Chinese skilled professionals of the sport.

Two professional Chinese Table Tennis coaches, Mr. Zhang Donghaiand, Mr. Cai Xiaoqiangare are now in the island to train Army Table Tennis players under the Sri Lanka - China Military Cooperation Programme.

The move was initiated under the guidance of the Commander of the Army.

Chairman, Army Table Tennis Committee, Major General B.H.M.A Wijesinghe on Tuesday (14) met those Chinese coaches and other trainees to receive an update on the ongoing training and inquired into requirements of the coaches and the trainees during a visit to the Panagoda Army Gymnasium.

This special coaching camp is expected to elevate Regimental / Army level players up to Defence Services standard, national standards and international standards accordingly.

Coaching assistance of the Chinese experts is obtained under the guidance of the Chairman, Army Sports Committees alongside with Director General Sports and Director Army Sports within a very short span of time after this need was effectively coordinated by the Defence Attaché of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing Brigadier T.D Weerakoon.

Mr. Zhang Donghai and Mr. Cai Xiaoqiang who arrived in the island on February 06 this year will conduct coaching camps until March 26.
