Army Troops Distribute Fishing Nets

17 Gajaba Regiment troops in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and Development of Aquatic Resources, Kilinochchi distributed fishing nets among low income 38 fishing families representing 7 fishing communities in Kilinochchi area at the Harmony Center, Kilinochchi on Friday (16).

All those members of the fishing community received fishing nets worth of Rs 121,600.00 granted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Development of Aquatic Resources.

Mr R. Saleevan, Officer for Development of Aquatic Resources, Lieutenant Colonel Prabath Halpage, Civil Affairs Officer, 571 Brigade, Major Mahinda Somathilaka, Commanding Officer, 17 Gajaba Regiment and fisheries community members together with a large gathering of civilians attended the event.
