Novices' Water Polo Championship - 2023 was won by Sri Lanka Army Swimmers on 16 February at Rathmalana, Air Force Swimming pool after beating 15 rival teams, drawn from all corners of the island.
Organized by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Association, the final tussle was between the teams of the Army and the Police.
Corporal H.C.S Kumara of the 22 Gajaba Regiment and Corporal W.K Jayasooriya of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were awarded as Best players in the winning team.
Major General Nishantha Manage, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Aquatic Sport Committee gave necessary directions and instructions to players while inspiring them to shine in the finals.
Sri Lanka Army Water Polo team, last year (2022) also won the Novices' Water Polo Championship.
