Army Swimmers Carry Away Negombo Beach Championship

The 2 km open swimming contest organized by Negombo Tiger Shark Water Sports Society, took place in Negombo sea beach with 32 sports clubs and a total of 460 swimmers on Sunday (2).

75 male and 6 female Army swimmers took part in the contest representing the Sri Lanka Army.

Army swimmers emerged overall champions in the men’s category event and Defence Services Championship.

Corporal A.B.K.A.S Maduranga of Gemunu Watch was awarded the trophy for the Best Disable Swimmer in the Para Swimming Event.
