The Army soldier, Lance Corporal N.A Witharana of 3 (volunteer) Gemunu Watch of the 613 Brigade ,61 Division Under Command to Security Forces - West recently showing his good Samaritan qualities was considerate enough to trace the owner of a wallet belonging to a school teacher and handed it over to the owner.
The wallet with Rs 183,000 in cash and a cash cheque to the value of Rs 41,300 was found lying on the ground at the Matara Camp Welfare Shop after it dropped off by accident when the soldier spotted it.
The Commanding Officer, 3 (V) Gemunu Watch commended the soldier for his honesty and genuineness.
