The exciting and national-level motor cross event, 'Kotmale Speed Hill Climb 2021’ where motor cars and motor bikes race with one another for supremacy got underway at the racing track of Kotmale during 10 - 12 December in front of a huge crowd of spectators, inclusive of well-known motor racing fans.
The Army riders who secured first and third places in SM-Super Motard 250/450 cc event and 125 cc up to 250 cc Speed Trail Bike Racing event were declared as the best motorbike rider and the best timing team, winning 3 best places.
Lance Corporal B.I Maduranga of Sri Lanka Army General Services Corps clocked 51.268 seconds and won the first place to carry the trophy and also the trophy of the best competent rider. Lance Corporal J.M.S Jayalath of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Service Corps in the 125 cc up to 250 cc Speed Trail Bike Racing event was adjudged the 3rd in the race. Aforesaid Army Riders are the most active members of the Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee.
The Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee organized the event in close collaboration with the Sri Lanka Motorbike Sports Association and the Senkadagala Motor Racing Club as the 2021 edition of the sports. It followed health guidelines as stipulated.
