Troops of the 22 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East on Saturday (19) at the 22 Division Headquarter premises handed over a little more than 40 Tons (48339 kg) of Organic Fertilizer, produced by the troops to the government-owned Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited” (Lak Pohora).
The Commander Security Forces - East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and symbolically handed over the organic fertilizer to Mr R.M.D Rathnayake, District Marketing Executive at Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited in the Eastern Province. Troops on experimental basis took the initiative in this regard.
General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Sanath Aluvihare, Brigade Commanders of the 221, 222 and 223 Brigades, Senior Officers and Other Ranks were present at the location.
Meanwhile, troops of the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment of the 121 Brigade under commanded to 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Central on Monday (21) handed over 40,000 kg of Army-produced organic fertilizer to Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited” (Lak Pohora) after inviting the company authorities to the Battalion Headquarters premises at Gothameegama.
The stock of Organic Fertilizer was processed by dedicated 20 SLSR troops under the guidance of Brigadier Udaya Serasinghe, 141 Brigade Commander. Major U.A Thilakasiri, Commanding Officer of the 20 SLSR closely supervised the project.
The Commanding Officer of the 20 SLSR, Officers, Other Ranks and representative officials from ‘Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited’ (Lak Pohora) participated in the occasion.
Likewise, the dedicated troops of the 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under command to the Security Force Headquarters - East handed over 51 tons of organic fertilizer, produced by them to the Ceylon Fertilizer Company (Lak Pohora) on 19 February at 23 SLSR Headquarters premises in Pothuvil.
Brigadier Saliya Amunugama, General Officer Commanding, 24 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Brigadier Chandika Peris, Commander, 242 Brigade, Commanding Officer of 23 SLSR, Officers and Other Ranks of 23 SLSR and officials of the Ceylon Fertilizer Company participated in the occasion.
Likewise, 10 (v) Sri Lanka Engineers of the Army handed over a consignment of 4000 kg of organic fertilizer to the Warehouse of the Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited (Lak Pohora) at Suriyawewa on Thursday (3).
Commanding Officer 10 (v) Sri Lanka Engineers, Major R. P. A Rohana, Officers and Other Ranks joined the occasion.
