Erasing thirty years of bitter memories and fostering better relations, a group of one hundred children, fifty from Ichchalanpaththu Divisional Secretariat and the rest from Mavilaru area were taken on an educational trip to Colombo by 222 Brigade Headquarters in Jayanthigama, Kantale.
The group, comprised of Sinhala and Tamil students visited Parliament, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Vihara Maha Devi Park, National Museum and Colombo Ananda Vidyalaya.
Those visiting students received a rousing welcome on arrival at the Ananda Vidyala premises where those children interacted with one another.
Sri Lanka Army facilitated the trip by providing transport. Parents, teachers and students thanked the Army for the arrangements. Brigadier B.H.M.A Wijesinghe, 222 Brigade Commander organized the programme for promotion of goodwill and understanding.
