Army Organizes Dengue Awareness Programme for Civilians

As the threat of Dengue is rising in different parts of the country, all Brigades under the 22 Division in Trincomalee conducted a Dengue awareness programmes for Police Officers, troops, Coastal guard officials and civilians in the areas.

The awareness programme was organised by the 22 Division with the coordination of the District Secretary on Tuesday (22) at the District Secretariat, Trincomalee.

The awareness programme educated the public on the rapidly spreading Dengue menace. Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division took the initiative in this regard.

Ms T. Indramani, Public Health Inspector for Uppuveli area delivered an important lecture on the menace and precautionary actions to be taken to arrest the spread of Dengue.

Towards the end of the day’s awareness programme, the 222 Brigade Commander awarded a token of appreciation to the guest speaker.
