Army Officers on Request Educate People on Home Gardening

Major A.M Amarathunga, Staff Officer - II at Directorate of Agriculture & Livestock and Major W.T.U Perera Second in command of 6 Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock (SLACAL) at the invitation of church authorities conducted informative lectures on ‘Home Gardening and Producing Compost’ to a crowd of more than 150 people on Thursday (17) at the Parish of Ragama Church.

Major General Shiran Abeysekera, Colonel Commandant, SLACAL and Director General Financial Management (DGFM) and Mrs Shanthi Abeysekera, Chairperson, SLACAL - Seva Vanitha Unit participated in the arrangement.

The lectures highlighted the advantages and importance of home gardening and production of organic fertilizer. Towards the end of the day’s programme, the gathering was gifted each with a mango sapling.
