Army Mobile Vaccination Drive Covers Colombo Suburbs

The Army's Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Fleet that prioritizes the vaccination of the elderly, sick, handicapped and feeble sections in society over 60 years of age started its inoculation in the western province on Sunday (22), covering Nugegoda, Gangodawila, Rajagiriya, Panadura and Moratuwa areas after launching it from the Panagoda Army Hospital premises. The arrangment was fully supported by the Security Force HQ-West on the directions of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commander, Security Forces-West.

The national drive, fully supported by the Army as per directions of the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva got to a start in the presence of the Commander Security Force (West), Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Coordinator for COVID Prevention Project in respective areas in Colombo.

Elderly people who need this mobile service are requested to register themselves with respective Assistant Divisional Secretariats, Grama Niladharis, health workers and the District Secretariat or by phoning the SF HQ (West) or the NOCPCO for necessary coordination.

The Vaccination Programme was Supervised by respective General Officers Commanding of 14 and 61 Divisions and supported by respective Brigade Commanders.
