Army Major Heads 26th World Military Taekwondo Championship

Major R. B. N Rathnayake of Sri Lanka Army who has been appointed as the first-ever Sri Lankan President of CISM (Council of International Sports Military) Taekwondo Committee attended the 26th World Military Taekwondo Championship, held in Tehran, Iran during 22-27 November with the approval of the Commander of the Army.

Taekwondo players from 14 countries participated in the championship where Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Chief Commander of the Iranian Army and Brigadier General Mohammad-Hossein Dadras, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army graced as distinguished guests.

Major Rathnayake was warmly welcomed by the World Military Taekwondo Board officials during the visit and he led the organizing events as the Chairman of the World Military Taekwondo Board.
