Officers and Other Ranks serving at the Army Logistics Command at Kosgama, together with their family members participated in their own Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival celebrations, organized at the Headquarters premises on 09 April 2024.
The festival commenced after the Major General M.W.T.C Mettananda USP ndc, the Commander, Logistics Command, lighting the traditional oil lamp along with several other Senior Officers.
Bun eating, pillow-fights, eye-placing on the Elephant, tug of war, fancy dress parade and a number of other traditional and fun-making games dominated the day’s proceedings to the much amusement of all the onlookers.
At the end of the festival, Commander, Logistics Command and several Senior Officers gave away gifts and trophies to the winners in different events and competitions.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, their spouses and children had a time full of fun and entertainment, associated with New Year traditions and cultural events.
