Army Inter Regiment Swimming Meet -2016 finals and the prize-awarding ceremony was held on (10) Thursday at Panagoda Army cantonment swimming complex.
The three-day long tournament competed by 270 swimmers of 17 Regiments under 4 categories for 43 Gold medals continued for two days (November 9-10).
Five battalions, representing Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) also participated in the competition.
Major General Piyal Wickramarathna, Director General General Staff (DGGS) attended the final ceremony of the tournament as the Chief Guest who gave away trophies to the winners.
Major General A. S De S Wickramarathna, Adjutant General and Chairman of the Army Swimming Committee welcomed the day’s Chief Guest on arrival at the event.
