Army Inter Battalion Cricket Tournament Underway

The Army Inter Battalion 20/20 Softball Cricket Tournament, organized by the Army Cricket Committee for the third time, is currently underway in all the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ) island-wide. The tournament began on 10 Aug.

A total of 2398 Army cricketers in 218 teams, representing all units and battalions across all SFHQs are now competing in the tournament.

In the first round, teams will compete the SFHQ level from which the champions of each SFHQ will be selected. Afterwards, those selected teams will compete for the Inter Battalion 20/20 Cricket Tournament-2015.

The Army Cricket Committee, chaired by Major General Ubaya Medawela has been instrumental in promoting cricket among Army personnel and this tournament is one among those initiatives.
