40 students of low-income group families learning in the Sinnavalayankaddu School in Periyavalayankaddu, Vavuniya were the recipients of school shoes, thanks to the initiation and coordination, done by the 562 Infantry Brigade of the 56 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-Wanni.
Responding to the Army initiative, Mr. R.M Pathiraja, Managing Director, TM Enterprises Ltd sponsored the cost of those shoes at the request of Brigadier J.M.A Jayasekara RSP USP, Brigade Commander, 562 Infantry Brigade.
The guidance of Major A.M.D.S Thilakarathne, Commanding Officer, 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment enabled his troops to make arrangements after inviting those 40 needy students to the 562 Infantry Brigade HQ, located at Periyavalayankaddu on Tuesday (09 May).
Sponsors, Major General H.G.P.M Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, teachers and school students participated in this event.
