A record gathering of about 1000 civilians, including Army personnel of the Security Forces in Kilinochchi, perhaps for the first time in the Kilinochchi history witnessed a rare and colourful dancing show presented by the most-reputed cultural group of ‘China’s Hubei Traditional Music and Dance' under the patronage of the Embassy of China in Sri Lanka and China's cultural center in Sri Lanka on Friday (27).
It was the result of an initiative taken by Major General G.V Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi with the intention of further promoting goodwill and understanding between the Army and civilians.
This event included impressive and eye-catching Chinese dance patterns, Martial Arts performances, musical and song spectacles, specific to the Chinese Hubei Province, Arts and photography exhibitions in Hubei Province of China, etc.
The arrangement at 'Nelum Piyasa' auditorium was graced by the District Secretary for Mullaittivu, Ms R. Ketheeswaran, together with the General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Major General B P S de Silva, General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier M.
