17th ‘Adi Vijaya Sath Samajika’ Hockey Tournament - 2016 for which Army Hockey team also took part was held at Edward Hockey playground, Matale on Sunday (23).
The tournament was organized by the Vijaya College at Matale. The final encounter kicked off between Hockey teams of the Army and the Air Force.
Army hockey players won in the finals against Air Force (3 - 1) goals.
Captain of the Army Hockey team, Lance Corporal Keerthi Kumara was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament.
The Chairman of the Army Hockey Committee, General Officer Commanding of 53 Division, Major General Shavendra Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
