Army Hands over 16 Oxygen Concentrators for Most Needed Hospitals in the Western Province

As an emergency measure, the Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Regiment on the directions of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva on Friday (13) distributed 16 Oxygen Concentrators among the Colombo National Hospital, Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubovila, Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama and Gampaha Base Hospital four use for serious patients, affected by COVID-19.

The SLEME Commandant, Brigadier O.M.D Gunasinghe accordingly handed over four Oxygen Concentrators to Dr W.K Wickramasinghe, Deputy Director General of Health Services at Colombo National Hospital, four Oxygen Concentrators to Dr Sagarika Siriwandeniya, Director General Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila, four Oxygen Concentrators to Dr Ranaweera, Director General Colombo Northern Teaching Hospital, Ragama and four Oxygen Concentrators to Ms T.H Umeshaa - Sister at District Hospital, Gampaha.
