Officers and soldiers serving Anuradhapura joined hands, together with organizers and provided all assistance for conduct of exposition of Kapilawasthupura relics of the Buddha at Anuradhapura Sri Sambuddathwa Jayanthi Viharaya during August 24-25.
On directions given by 21 Division, troops of the 212 Brigade cleaned up the temple premises in advance and made all other preparations including temporary shelters and decorations before the relics were taken to the temple premises in a grand procession, for which hundreds of troops contributed.
Alms and offer of Gilanpasa to sacred relics were made on Saturday (25) by the Army, in addition to provision of meals to organizers and Security Forces personnel who were on duty for the exposition.
