Army Experts Invited to the Annual IAESL Symposium

The Annual Symposium organized by the Institute of Automotive Engineers Sri Lanka (IAESL) was held at the Tourist Board Auditorium on Saturday (27 May) with the participation of many islandwide experts, engineers and researchers including the representatives of the Sri Lanka Army.

The session was arranged under the theme of ‘Management of Technology’ and was aimed at discussing the latest advancements in technology and challenges in the field of engineering under the topics of ‘Competitiveness of Automobile Industry’, ‘Role of Technology in Reshaping the Economy’ and ‘Crash Safety of Vehicles’. The annual Symposium known for its comprehensive coverage of diverse engineering disciplines, attracted participants from various sectors, including academia, industry, and government.

Recognizing the valuable contribution of the Sri Lanka Army in the areas of Automobile engineering and innovation, the IAESL invited distinguished Army personnel to provide lectures and share their expertise during the symposium proving well the close collaboration that exists between the military and civilian sectors in promoting national development.

Colonel Y.K.S Rangika psc ptsc, Centre Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services, an expert in mechanical engineering conducted a session on ‘Role of Technology in Reshaping the Economy’ fostering greater collaboration and knowledge sharing between the military and civilian engineering communities. The exchange of ideas and expertise is expected to pave the way for further advancements and innovations in the field of engineering in Sri Lanka.

Major General J.A.R.S.K Jayasekara USP psc, Director General Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (DG EME) was the project chairman of this symposium. The IAESL expressed their gratitude to Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, and the Sri Lanka Army for their invaluable contribution to the symposium and acknowledged the Army’s commitment for excellence in engineering practices. Several Senior Officers and Officers took part in the arrangements.
