The Colombo Super Cross 2017, the inaugural motor sports event organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) was flagged off recently at the motocross and gravel track in Welisara.
At the invitation of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Before the commencement of the series of racing events, the Commander of the Navy opened the racing tracks setting the platform ready for an exciting day of racing.
Around 125 racing riders and 85 drivers across the country competed under a total of 22 motorcar and motorcycle events (12 motorcars and 10 motorcycles events).
The following drivers and riders of the Sri Lanka Army secured respective places at this inaugural motor sports event at Welisara.
