Army Donates a New House to a Disable Widow With Five Children

Army troops serving at Ariyalai donated a newly constructed house to Mrs. Sivakumar Ranjithamalar, a disable widow mother with five children of Anantha Vadil road, Ariyalai who was living in a shanty-type small hut.

Civil Affairs Office of 512 Brigade on hearing her miserable life in the temporary house with five children whose father has died off a heart attack some time back has made arrangements to construct a permanent house for the family.

Soldiers of the 7th Battalion of Gajaba Regiment (7 GR) built this house for this courageous widow within a very short period of time and handed it over to her on Thursday (03).

Her three children are studying in Grade 8, 6 and 4, and two younger are attending pre-school.

Officers and other ranks serving under the 51 Division attended a brief function organized to hand over the house to Mrs. Ranjithamalar.
