Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) marked the Army Day and 62nd anniversary at a separate ceremony held at the SFHQ-J premises on Monday (10).
Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, SFHQ-J spoke to the gathering of officers and other ranks and appealed them to work harder for the betterment of Jaffna civilians not as a fighting force any longer but as a protective force.
Towards the final leg of the ceremony, several senior officers visited soldiers and sailors receiving treatment in the Palaly Army Base Hospital and presented them with gift parcels.
