Army Cricketers Beat Saracens by 2 Wickets

Sri Lanka Army cricketers beat Saracens SC by 2 wickets in the Premier League Cricket Tournament, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket Association, played at Army Cricket Grounds, Panagoda on Sunday (15).

Excellent performances, displayed by Bombardier T.D.T Soysa, scored 83 runs, National Cricketer Lieutenant Ajantha Mendis and Lance Corporal A.J.C De Silva took 5 wickets each while national Cricketer Staff Sergeant Sekkuge Prasanna scored 51 runs in the 2nd innings in the victory over Saracens SC.

Saracens SC team scored 187 runs while the Army Cricket team scored 226 runs in the 1st innings. Saracens SC were bowled out for 202 runs in the 2nd innings leaving the Army Cricket team a target of 164 runs. The Army Cricket team scored 168/8 in their 2nd innings to win the match.

The Army Cricket Team will play the next match against Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket team during Feb 20-22 at CCC Grounds, Colombo.
