Army Cricketer Asela Gunaratne & Others Felicitated in ‘Dialog Cricket Awards’

One more shining cricketers, Warrant Officer - II, Asela Gunaratne of the Army who did exceptionally well in the T-20s and ODIs received laurels as the Batsman of the Year, Year’s Promising Cricketer and as the Best All Rounder in the ‘Dialog Cricket Awards - 2017’, held last night (31) at Water’s Edge, Grand Ballroom.

The impressive occasion welcomed the cricketing elites, including the World Cup winner, legendary Kapil Dev, former Captain of the Indian Cricket team to a red carpet welcome. Former Indian Captain, Kapil Dev graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour while Hon. Minister of Sports, Dayasiri Jayasekara (MP) took part as the Chief Guest.

‘Dialog Cricket Awards - 2017’ gave away more than 60 awards during this felicitation ceremony. Army recipients and groups who received those awards are as follows;
