By responding to a request made by Major General Dammi Hewage, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division a few philanthropists donated medical equipment to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital on Wednesday (23).
Mr Naresh Samarawickrama living in Germany and Members of 'Ayubowan' Sri Lanka Organization including Mr Malcolm Perera and Darshan Karunarathna donated 200 NRB branded masks and 12 Oximeters for use in the hospital. In addition, Mrs Duminda Gayani Mahahettige also donated 12 Oximeters at the same occasion in order to help the emergency developments.
Those donated medical equipment were to be distributed for use in the Karapitiya Teaching hospital, Ruhunu National Educational Centre ICC, Aarachchikanda Hospital and Habaraduwa Meepe hospital.
GOC 61 Division, Major General Dammi Hewage, Commander 613 Brigade and a few officers also gathered at the venue.
