To coincide with the forthcoming Good Friday and Easter Sunday celebrations, the Army Christian Fellowship in cooperation with priests, launched the 'Way of the Cross' spiritual prayers at St. John Dal Bastone Church at Pelawatte, Battaramulla on Tuesday (04 April 2023).
Major General Shiran Abeysekara, President, Army Christian Fellowship (ACF) who is also the Director General Financial Management & Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock, together with Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, Secretary, ACF, Commandant at Defence Services Command and Staff College and a large gathering of ACF members attended the prayer session.
The prayer session, one of many initiatives in the Season of Lent reflected on each stage of the Christ's life through the 'Way of the Cross' session programme. The Holy Mass was administered by the Army Chaplain, Rev. Fr Noel Dias. Further, through this service, Officers and Other Ranks of the ACF got an opportunity to relax their minds and reflect on their lives spiritually during the season of lent, reflecting the passion of Jesus Christ.
At the end of the session, Major General Shiran Abeysekara delivered a special vote of thanks to the Army Chaplain Rev.Fr Noel Dias and other priests for guiding, and arranging all the things at the Church for conduct of the 'Way of the Cross' and invoked divine blessings for all military personnel and their families.
