Army Chief Recalls Memories of Late Colonel W.M.R Wijesundara's (Rtd) RWP RSP psc

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army on Thursday (16) afternoon took time off to pay his last respect to late Colonel W.M.R Wijesundara (Rtd) RWP RSP psc of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI).

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage condoled with family members of the retired Officer and recalled his dedicated service to the Army before his retirement and how he valiantly contributed to the success of the humanitarian operations before May 2009. He also expressed his deep sorrow on the death of the veteran infantryman of the Army and left a note of sympathy in the book of condolences before his exit.

His funeral with military honours takes place on Thursday (16) at Borella General Cemetery. Colonel W.M.R Wijesundara (Rtd) RWP RSP psc of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) passed away on Tuesday (14) evening after a brief illness.
