Army-built MOH Office at Kilinochchi Opened

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), in another landmark community project, offering their engineering expertise to the Ministry of Health gratis, completed the construction of the office complex of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) in Kilinochchi and vested it with the public on Sunday (24).

Hon. Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine as the Chief Guest during a ceremony opened the new MOH complex, in the company of its sponsors, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The 8 month-long construction project was brought to completion by troops of the 57, 65 and 66 Divisions of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) with the support of Officers and soldiers of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) under the supervision of Major General Jagath Gunawardane, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division under the guidance of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN).

The ceremonial opening ceremony of the MOH complex, headed by the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine was attended by GFATM representatives, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, SF-KLN.

Major General Jagath Gunawardena, General Officer Commanding 57 Division and a large group of health department officials, state officials and civilians were present at the location.
