Army Basketball Team Wins ‘Defence Services Basketball Tournament - 2023’

The final matches of the Defence Services Basketball Tournament - 2023 got underway on 25 August at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda.

Major General W.M.R.W.W.H.J.B Wanigasekara VSV USP, Chairman, Basketball Committee participated in the awarding ceremony of the tournament as the Chief Guest, together with Air Vice Marshal T.A.D.R Senanayake, Director General Aeronautical Engineering Sri Lanka Air Force and Commodore Roshan Athukorala, Director Sports Sri Lanka Navy after all of them watched the finals.

After the competitive tussle, the Sri Lanka Army team won the championship while the Sri Lanka Navy secured the runner-up slot in the Men’s category. The tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Army Basketball Committee.

Brigadier Anil Peiris, Director Sports, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the finals.
