THE THREE armed forces together with the Police have been instructed by the relevant authorities to be deployed in vital public places as state intelligence have received information where certain groups attached to various political parties are trying to damage public property, especially the threat is on the ‘fly overs’, military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.
“They are trying to create a situation similar to what we witnessed in the 88 / 89 period. Special teams have been recruited to prevent such situations being taken place”, he said. The public can inform the nearby Police station or the Army camp if they witness such incidents especially if they are engaged in damaging public property, Brigadier Nanayakkara said.
