A group of 115 Army personnel, including officers, 05 Police officers and 21 civilians on Friday (10) donated their blood to the Kilinochchi Blood Bank in response to a request of the Kilinochchi Hospital during an arrangement that got underway at 20 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment HQ at Akkrayankulam under command to the 66 Division HQ in Pooneryn.
Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Commander of the Security Forces - Mullaittivu, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, General Officer Commanding of the 66 Division and Brigadier Suminda Dayawansha, Commander, 661 Brigade were among those who arrived at the venue to support the project, one of the biggest organized in the area in recent times.
Medical officers, nursing staff and minor staff of the Kilinochchi Blood Bank provided the medical and professional assistance for conduct of the humanitarian project.
