Akkaraipattu Low-Income Families Get Dry Rations & School Aids

11 Sri Lanka National Guard (11 SLNG) troops of the 241 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-East coordinated and organized a distribution of essential dry ration packs and school stationeries among low-income families, resident around Akkaraipattu area after inviting them to the Akkaraipattu Wijerama temple on Wednesday (April 05).

This welfare gesture was made possible, thanks to the patronage of the All Island Professional Photographic Studio Owners' Association through the coordination, made by the Commanding Officer of the 11 SLNG troops with the blessings of the 241 Infantry Brigade Commander and the 24 Infantry Division's General Officer Commanding.

Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - East and Major General Wipula Chandrasiri, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 24 Infantry Division and Brigadier Dhanika Pathirathna, Brigade Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade closely observed the project and instructed accordingly.

During the event, families received 34 dry ration packs, each worth Rs. 7,000/= and 30 school accessories packs, each valued at Rs. 2,600./= in addition to provision of a delicious lunch to all attendees.

The GOC of the 24 Infantry Division attended the occasion as the chief guest and Major Pubudu Hetiarachchi, Commanding Officer, 11 SLNG, Senior Officers Officers and Other Ranks were present during the distribution ceremony.
