Air Mobile Brigade troops of the 53 Division gave away about 30 dry ration packs to poor families in Welankulam, Vavuniya, Inamaluwa and Habarana areas on 19 June 2021.
Prof Kalpani Dissanayake and Prof Himali Somaweera, both sponsored the cost and wanted the troops to distribute those packs after selecting the most needed.
Major General Nishantha Manage, General Officer Commanding, 53 Division gave necessary guidelines to Colonel Subath Sanjeewa, Commander, Air Mobile Brigade to closely carry out the distribution plan.
