9 Sri Lanka National Guard (9 SLNG) troops of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu donated a new wheelchair to a 15-year-old handicapped child of a needy family with 07 members residing at Sugandipuram, Mullaittivu on Friday (May 05) on account of ‘Vesak’.
Troops took the wheelchair to their doorstep and handed it to the parents and the project was initiated by Major H.P.I Kumara, Commanding Officer of 9 SLNG under the guidance of Major General S. Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 68 Infantry Division and Brigadier N.D.P Gunathunga, Commander, 681 Infantry Brigade.
Officers and Other Ranks in the unit jointly contributed to the purchase of the wheelchair. The Commanding Officer, 9 SLNG, Officers and a few Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
