The 14 Infantry Division, under the guidance of Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, hosted the ‘General Officer Commanding Challenge Trophy Softball Cricket Tournament -2024’ from 26 March 2024 to 02 April 2024. The tournament featured 16 teams representing under command Brigades and Battalions.
After 14 preliminary matches, the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) team and 18 Sri Lanka National Guard Regiment team advanced to the finals. The event was graced by the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division as the chief guest. In an exciting game held at the Kandalanda Playground, the 8 SLLI team emerged as the champions.
The tournament was colorfully adorned with Angampora and other entertaining events, with the participation of Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the 14 Infantry Division.
