As of this morning (26), a total of 551vmore persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them are locally-identified ones, including the majority 300 from Colombo, 37 from Kalutara district, 52 from Gampaha district and other 162 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (26), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 37, 007. Meanwhile, 27,931 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (33,018) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (25), a total of 39,781 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 31,338 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,257 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (26), 771 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the last 24 hours. In the past 24 hours one death has been reported from Akkaraipattu. Accordingly, the death toll in the country rose to 186 by this morning (26).
As of this morning (26), the flight EY 264 from UAE with 31 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 33 passengers, the flight UL 1026 from India with 58 passengers and the flight UL 218 from Qatar with 17 passengers have arrived. The flight UL 867 from China with a passenger and the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with two passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
