7 VIR Troops Buy Essentials for Pregnant Women

Aimed at enhancing civil-military relations, 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops of the 52 Division of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna took steps to hold a medical clinic and distribute essentials among well-deserving 25 pregnant women in the general area of Chavakachcheri on 06 June 2022.

The generous sponsorship for this event was extended by Major I.K.G.S.N Bandara, Commanding officer and all troops in 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. This programme was initiated under the guidance and close supervision of Major General Udaya Herath, General Officer Commanding 52 Division and Colonel Subash Siriwardahna, Commander 523 Brigade with the blessings of the Jaffna Commander.

The event, held at the Cultural Centre in Chavakachcheri was graced by the General Officer Commanding - 52 Division, together with Medical Officer of Health (MOH) at Chavakachcheri. The community project which benefitted those pregnant women was assisted by respective Grama Seva officials who assisted in the selection of families. The stock was worth about Rs 15,000.00.

Commander 523 Brigade, Staff Officers of the 52 Division and 523 Brigade, Medical Staff at the MOH Chavakachcheri and Other Ranks took part in the community project.
