7 MIC Troops with Sponsors Give Relief Packs

7 Military Intelligence Corps (7 MIC) troops of the 222 Infantry Brigade and the 22 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) coordinated the distribution of 25 essential dry ration packs, each worth Rs. 4000/= among 25 low-income group families, resident in Serunuwara, Thopur and Kiliveddi areas in the Serunuwara Divisional Secretariat premises on Saturday (25 March).

This was made possible with the kind patronage, offered by Mr Raj Mohan and his family residing in Canada through the coordination of 7 MIC and 222 Infantry Brigade troops.

Lieutenant Colonel M.D.C.D Matharage, Commanding Officer (CO), 7 MIC initiated the programme under the guidance of Brigadier Saliya Dias, Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade and Major General Saliya Amunugama, General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division. Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, Commander, SF - E provided necessary guidelines for the project.

Representatives of the donors, Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade attended the distribution ceremony as the chief guest with the Commanding Officer, 7 MIC, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and beneficiaries took part in the event.
