7 GW Troops Assist Flood Affected Civilians

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West on Tuesday (6) promptly acted and provided more than 100 cooked meal packs to the civilians, affected due to floods in the general areas of Mattakkuliya Grama Niladari Division in the 259 Sector.

7 Gemunu Watch troops of the 142 Brigade HQ of the 14 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - West on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces - West prepared those meal packets and distributed them among most affected families in the area, irrespective of torrential rains.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Division, Brigadier Rohan Jayamanna closely coordinated and supervised the project.

Similarly, troops monitored the water levels and assisted the Disaster Management Centre coordinators for facilitation of relief assistance.
