Showing the highest degree of comradeship and consideration for basic human needs, All Ranks in Mullaittivu-based 68 Infantry Division HQ through their own funds and resources are set to build a new house for one of their female workmates, Lance Corporal P.Keshiya of Mullivaikkal (East), Mullaittivu as her family does not have a proper house for dwelling.
In view of her miserable living condition, troops on the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division took the initiative in this regard as a great gesture of reconciliation and brotherhood, and laid the foundation stone for construction of this new house on Monday (26) during a brief ceremony, for which the General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division, Major General S.Kasthurimudali RSP attended as the Chief Guest along with several Officers and Other Ranks.
Troops of the 16 Corps of Engineer Services and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard using their technical skills have undertaken the project.
