68 Division Marks its 13th Anniversary

The 68 Infantry Division HQ celebrated its 13th anniversary on 10 December at the Division HQ in Puthukuduiruppu with several events, inclusive of cricket, football and volleyball matches which were competed by sports lovers serving under command Brigades and Battalions.

Religious offerings and programmes in Anuradhapura Mahamewuna Asapuwa and Wattappalei Kannaki Amman Kovil blessed the Anniversary day. on 8 December and a ceremonial Guard Turnout was presented to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 68 Infantry Division, Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma on the anniversary Day (10 December) before he was honoured in a Guard of Honour.

Later, the GOC, symbolic of the anniversary day opened the newly-constructed library at the 68 Division Headquarters premises and vested it to the Division troops. The GOC afterwards addressed the troops before joining an all rank lunch in the same afternoon.
