68 & 64 Division HQs Launch Anniversary Projects for Benefit of Civilians

Troops of the 681 Brigade of the 68 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu in line with the 72nd anniversary of the Army launched community welfare projects at Mullaittivu area on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, Major General Keerthi Bandara on 10 October.

Accordingly, 6 Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (GW) gave away dry ration packs for deserving families in Therawil, Walluwapuram, Wallipunam and Udayarkattu areas.

The programme saw a total of 25 deserving families in Mullaittivu area receive those dry ration packs and they consisted of essential commodities such as rice, dhal, sugar, potatoes and onions, etc.

The Commander, 681 Brigade, Brigadier Nalin Hettiarachchi, together with Major H.M.R Hennayake, Commanding Officer, 6 GW participated in the company of several Senior Officers in respective areas, adhering to health guidelines.

In the meantime, troops of the 641 Brigade of the 64 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu on account of the 72nd anniversary of the Army launched community welfare projects at Mullaittivu area on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 64 Division, Major General Upul Weerakoon on 10 October.

Accordingly, 641 Brigade offered alms to the monks at Monarawewa temple and troops of the 14 Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment cleaned the church in Mulamurippu. Around the same occasion, 64 division planted saplings inside the camp and donated a total of 1104 among civilians.

The Commander 641 Brigade, together with the Commanding Officer 14 SLSR participated in the company of several senior officers in respective areas, adhering to health guidelines.
