HE the President Maithripala Sirisena Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, in what can be regarded as a New Year bonanza has promoted Brigadier M.A.A.D Sirinaga, Director Electrical & Mechanical Engineering to the rank of Major General along with 66 other Senior Officers to the rank of Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels effective from specific dates, clearing a much - anticipated backlog in their career prospects.
Those promotions have been approved by the President on the recommendations of the Ministry Of Defence and the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake.
