A team of Commandos of the 66 Division, together with Division Battalion Training School conducted an awareness workshop for four days (24-27 September) at the Battalion Training school Arsapurakulam on disaster management.
During the workshop, they learnt about their responsibilities to meet with any eventual disasters or emergency situations. The project was effected consequent upon an initiative taken by Colonel Madhura Wicramarathne, Brigade Commander, 661 Brigade on the directions of Brigadier Mangala Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding 66 Division.
The four-day workshop, attended by a total of five 8 man teams with its team commanders from under command battalions focused on recommended practices in emergencies of floods, droughts, cyclones, tsunamis and fire eruptions.
