Troops of the 66 Division HQ in Poonaryn upon arrival of their newly-promoted General Officer Commanding, Major General Nalin Jayawardana after receipt of new insignia from the Army Chief at the HQ premises presented honours and greeted him in accordance with military traditions on Wednesday (8).
Troops of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment presented a Guard Turnout salute at the entrance and a Guard of Honour afterwards during formalities.
Major General Nalin Jayawardana addressed his 66 Division troops afterwards and joined an all-rank tea bringing the day’s proceedings to an end.
Brigade Commanders of under-command Brigades, Staff Officers of the 66 Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the felicitation ceremony.
